Three Taken to Hospital After Crash on Kingston Pike in Knoxville, TN

September 21, 2026

Knoxville, TN (September 21, 2026) – On Monday afternoon, September 21, three people were taken to hospitals after an accident at Kingston Pike and Old Stage.

The Knoxville Police and emergency services rushed to the scene to provide aid to those involved. Ambulances had to transport three people due to their injuries. The severity of those injuries has not been specified.

It is not clear what led to the accident. Authorities continue to investigate.

Our thoughts are with the three people as they receive medical care.

Why Injury Claim Deadlines Come Quickly in Knoxville, TN

In the weeks after a traffic injury, most people are focused on medical appointments, missed work, and calls from insurers, not calendars. That is typically when the most important deadline in a claim begins to run. In Tennessee, a personal injury lawsuit generally must be filed within one year of the date of the injury.

The one-year limit comes from state statute, and a lawsuit filed after it passes is typically dismissed. Property damage claims usually follow a longer period, generally three years, so a vehicle claim and an injury claim can run on different clocks. Some exceptions may apply, such as for injured minors, but they depend on specific facts and should not be assumed.

Deadlines get harder to track when several drivers, insurers, and medical providers are involved. An insurance claim is separate from a lawsuit, and a policy may set its own notice requirements. Talking with an insurer generally does not pause the state's filing deadline, so a Knoxville car accident lawyer can help map out the dates, request records early, and weigh how much time there is to negotiate before a filing becomes necessary.

Filing deadlines are easier to manage when you know the dates early. At Fox & Farmer, we can review the details of your situation and explain what initial steps may be taken early on.
