The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with everyone involved in the crash.
Common car accident injuries in Knoxville include whiplash, back injuries, concussions, broken bones, chest injuries, cuts, and bruises. Some injuries heal quickly, while others cause lasting pain, affect daily activities, and require weeks or months of treatment.
Even if you feel fine after a crash, you should see a doctor. Neck pain, headaches, and dizziness may not appear until hours or days later. Being able to walk away from a collision does not mean you are uninjured.
As you receive medical care, keep copies of your treatment records, test results, bills, and follow-up instructions. These documents can help show when your symptoms began, what treatment you needed, and how your injuries have affected your recovery.
Depending on your injuries, compensation may cover medical bills, lost income, and pain and suffering. If you need ongoing treatment, you may also seek compensation for future medical expenses and any lasting limitations caused by the crash.
If you share responsibility for the crash, you may still recover compensation if you are less than 50% at fault. Your compensation is reduced by your percentage of fault. At 50% or more, recovery is generally barred.
In most cases, you have one year from the date of your injury to file a personal injury lawsuit. Some exceptions may apply, but missing the deadline could prevent you from seeking compensation through the courts.
When your injuries affect your work or daily life, a car accident lawyer in Knoxville, TN, can review your situation and explain what compensation may be available. An attorney can also handle insurance negotiations while you focus on getting better.
