Clarksville, TN (October 13, 2026) – Two people were injured in a collision at Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and Dunbar Cave Road on Monday, October 12.
Clarksville Police said the crash happened in the evening, and the southbound lanes were closed for a time.
One person was flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville and was listed in stable condition. The other was taken to Vanderbilt of Clarksville. The extent of their injuries was not known, but none were believed to be life-threatening.
The cause of the wreck is still being looked into.
Our thoughts are with both people as they recover.
If the other driver's liability limits are too low, an injured person may be able to turn to underinsured motorist coverage on their own policy, if they have it. Tennessee insurers generally must offer uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, and policies include it unless the policyholder rejects it in writing. The policy's declarations page shows whether it applies.
Tennessee requires drivers to carry liability insurance with minimum limits of $25,000 per person, $50,000 per accident, and $25,000 for property damage. Those limits can run out quickly when treatment includes hospital stays, imaging, or ongoing therapy. Lost income and future medical needs can add to the gap.
In these cases, a car accident lawyer can review each available policy, including any underinsured motorist coverage, and explain how notice requirements and the order in which coverage applies may affect a claim.
It is important to take into account that Tennessee generally allows only one year to file a personal injury lawsuit, so reviewing coverage early matters a lot.
