We wish those injured a smooth and steady recovery.
Fault after a crash in Afton is determined by looking at what each driver was doing before the vehicles came together. Investigators may consider lane position, speed, right-of-way, traffic laws, and other actions that may have contributed to the wreck.
When drivers give different accounts of what happened, evidence can help show how the crash occurred. Police reports, roadway photos, vehicle damage, video footage, and statements from people who saw what happened may provide useful details.
Because Tennessee uses an at-fault insurance system, the driver responsible for a crash may also be responsible for the losses it causes. How much compensation is available can depend on insurance coverage, policy limits, and proof of your expenses.
After a serious wreck, compensation may cover medical bills, lost income, property damage, pain, and other related losses. Future medical costs may also be considered if doctors expect you to need more treatment as you recover.
In Tennessee, you generally have one year from the date of a car accident to file a personal injury lawsuit. Missing this deadline may prevent you from seeking compensation through a lawsuit, so it is helpful to keep track of the date.
If there is a disagreement about who caused the crash, a car accident lawyer can review the evidence and determine what it shows. An attorney can also deal with the insurance company and provide records that support your claim.
