What Legal Options Do Victims and Families Have After a Crash in Memphis, TN?

Injured victims and surviving family members may have legal options after an interstate crash in Memphis, TN. Depending on the circumstances, an injured person may pursue a personal injury claim, while qualifying relatives may be able to file a wrongful death claim when another driver's negligence contributed to the death.

Under Tennessee law, these civil claims may allow victims or families to seek compensation for certain economic and non-economic losses. The available recovery can depend on factors such as medical expenses, lost income, funeral costs, loss of financial support, and the specific circumstances surrounding the crash.

To determine how responsibility may be assigned, the circumstances leading up to an early-morning highway crash may need to be examined closely. Driver behavior, vehicle movements, roadway conditions, and other available evidence can help establish what occurred. High-speed collisions can also result in serious or fatal injuries, creating significant medical and financial consequences for those involved.

Since these claims can involve both injury-related losses and insurance questions, gathering documentation early can be useful.

A lawyer can review police collision reports, examine vehicle damage, collect available evidence, and communicate with insurance companies. Legal guidance may also help victims and families understand the claims process and determine which options may be available based on the facts of the case.
