McMinnville, TN (October 10, 2026) – A woman using a motorized wheelchair was injured when a pickup truck struck her near the Mount Leo bridge on Beersheba Highway in McMinnville. The collision occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m.
The McMinnville Police Department reported that a 1997 Ford F-150 stopped at Higginbotham Road and Beersheba Highway before turning right. The driver told an officer he had not seen the woman traveling along Beersheba Highway.
An officer reported that the woman had a minor scratch on her leg and that the truck’s rear tire appeared to have grazed her. Warren County EMS transported her to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park for treatment.
The 19-year-old driver was not injured and received a citation for failing to exercise due care.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
We hope the injured woman receives the care she needs to make a full recovery.
After a pedestrian crash in McMinnville, your health insurance, applicable medical payments coverage, or a claim against the responsible driver may help pay your medical bills. Payment depends on the coverage available and who is legally responsible.
To support your request for payment, keep treatment records, itemized medical bills, insurance correspondence, and crash information. These materials can help connect your medical care to the collision and show how much you have been charged.
While your claim is pending, medical bills may come due before the insurance matter is resolved. You can ask your healthcare provider about payment arrangements for outstanding balances. Filing a claim does not automatically stop collection efforts.
Beyond your medical expenses, a claim may cover lost income, pain and suffering, and damage to mobility equipment when applicable. What you can recover depends on the losses caused by the crash and your circumstances.
In Tennessee, you generally have one year to file a personal injury lawsuit, although exceptions may apply. Missing this deadline can prevent you from pursuing compensation through the courts.
If an insurer disputes payment, a pedestrian accident lawyer can address the disagreement and speak with the company on your behalf. An attorney can also handle insurance calls and paperwork while you focus on your recovery.
Medical bills and insurance questions can make recovery after a pedestrian crash more difficult. Fox & Farmer helps people across Tennessee address these concerns and provides clear guidance throughout the claims process.
