Nashville, TN (September 10, 2026) – At least one person was injured after a multi-vehicle crash on Ellington Parkway, near the Interstate 65 North and Briley Parkway interchange, in Nashville on Thursday, September 10. The collision occurred just before 7:00 a.m.
Initial reports indicated that one vehicle came to rest in the grassy median, while another remained on the roadway.
Nashville Fire Department crews and medical personnel arrived following the crash. Additional details about the injuries or whether anyone was taken to a hospital have not been released.
The ramp from Ellington Parkway to Briley Parkway was closed while crews cleared the wreckage. The vehicles were removed, and all lanes reopened around 8:30 a.m.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
We hope everyone injured in the crash makes a full recovery.
Liability for a multi-car crash in Nashville may fall on one or more drivers whose actions contributed to the collision. In some cases, another party, such as an employer or vehicle owner, may also be responsible depending on the circumstances.
When several vehicles are involved, the order of contact can become an important part of determining responsibility. Investigators may look at which vehicle made the first impact and whether later collisions occurred because drivers could not avoid the initial crash.
Because drivers must leave enough room to stop safely, Tennessee law requires a reasonable following distance based on traffic, speed, and roadway conditions. Following too closely may support a finding of liability in a chain-reaction crash.
After a serious wreck, evidence may include police findings, vehicle damage, roadway photographs, traffic-camera footage, dashcam recordings, and statements from the people involved. These materials can help clarify how the crash unfolded when different drivers give conflicting accounts.
If a vehicle involved in the collision was being used for work, an employer may need to be considered as part of the claim. From there, employment records and the driver’s duties at the time of the wreck may help determine whether additional insurance coverage is available.
As insurance companies investigate, different carriers may reach different conclusions about who caused the crash. Those disagreements can affect payment for medical treatment, lost income, property damage, and other losses connected to the collision.
If questions arise about who caused the crash, a car accident lawyer can review the sequence of collisions and the insurance coverage available. An attorney can also address disputes that may affect your ability to recover compensation.
