August 12, 2026

Murfreesboro, TN (August 12, 2026) – On Wednesday morning, August 12, a motorcyclist suffered critical injuries following a two-vehicle collision involving an SUV near Joe B. Jackson Parkway and Elam Road. Emergency medical crews and local law enforcement responded to the scene located just off Interstate 24.

First responders evaluated the injured rider at the crash site before arranging transport. Medical flight crews airlifted the motorcyclist to a regional trauma center for emergency treatment of severe injuries.

The occupants of the SUV were evaluated at the scene, though no additional hospital transports were immediately reported by authorities.

The Murfreesboro Police Department is continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Our thoughts are with the injured motorcyclist as they work toward recovery.

What Legal Rights Do Injured Motorcyclists Have After an SUV Collision in Murfreesboro, TN?

Motorcyclists injured in a collision with an SUV in Murfreesboro may be able to seek financial compensation through the at-fault driver's bodily injury liability coverage. Under Tennessee's modified comparative fault system, an injured rider may recover damages for medical expenses, lost earning capacity, and physical pain as long as they were less than 50 percent responsible for the crash.

Because motorcycle riders have little physical protection, the consequences can be especially serious when an SUV is involved. Severe collisions may result in traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord trauma, compound fractures, and internal injuries that require emergency treatment, surgery, and long-term care.

As medical needs continue, injured riders and their families may face substantial hospital bills, rehabilitation expenses, lost income, and other losses. Filing a personal injury claim can provide a way to seek compensation for these costs and the physical and emotional effects of the injuries.

Determining liability and documenting those losses can require a careful review of the available evidence. A lawyer familiar with Tennessee law can obtain police collision reports, examine vehicle damage and skid marks, secure nearby traffic or commercial camera footage, and communicate directly with insurance adjusters. Legal guidance can also help identify the insurance coverage that may apply to the claim.
