Two Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-75 in Chattanooga, TN

October 13, 2026

Chattanooga, TN (October 13, 2026) – Two people were taken to the hospital after a collision that involved three vehicles on Interstate 75 northbound near East Brainerd Road on Monday, October 12.

Preliminary details from Chattanooga Police indicate one vehicle sideswiped another and pushed it into a third vehicle.

The extent of the injuries of those hospitalized was not known.

Investigators are still reviewing what led to the wreck.

We are hoping for a full recovery for those taken to the hospital.

What Happens When More Than Two Drivers Share Fault in Chattanooga, TN?

Under Tennessee law, each driver found at fault is generally responsible only for their own percentage of the damages. An injured person can seek compensation from more than one driver or insurer but cannot recover from anyone who is not found at fault, and any share of fault assigned to the injured person reduces the total.

Insurance limits can complicate multi-driver claims. Tennessee's minimum liability limits are $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident, so when several people are injured, they may share a policy's per-accident limit. If one driver's insurance falls short, underinsured motorist coverage on the injured person's own policy may apply, depending on its terms.

A Chattanooga car accident lawyer can help sort out which drivers may share responsibility, request records from each insurer, and explain how Tennessee's shared-fault rules may affect a claim.

If you were injured in a collision where more than two drivers are involved, Fox & Farmer can help you sort out how Tennessee's shared-fault rules may apply. We can explain how different insurance policies and limits may fit together to your specific situation.
