Cordova, TN (September 22, 2026) – A man died early Tuesday, September 22, after a two-vehicle collision on Germantown Parkway at Fischer Steele Road.
According to Memphis Police, authorities were called to the scene just after 1:45 a.m.
The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead. At least one vehicle involved showed significant damage, though additional details about the other vehicle were not immediately available.
Traffic was affected in the area for several hours afterward. The investigation into the wreck remains active.
We extend our condolences to the man's family and loved ones.
Determining fault in a fatal intersection collision typically comes down to physical evidence that can disappear or change within hours. Skid marks fade, traffic signal timing data can be overwritten, and vehicle data recorders may need to be secured before information is lost.
Tennessee follows a modified comparative fault rule, in which a person can recover damages only if they are found less than 50 percent responsible for what happened. In a two-vehicle intersection collision, insurers on both sides will probably try to dispute who had the right of way, which makes early evidence especially important to how fault gets divided.
Cordova's busy corridors see heavy commuter traffic, and nearby traffic cameras or business surveillance footage can sometimes capture what happened before it's deleted or overwritten. It can make a meaningful difference in a liability dispute to request that footage and other records quickly.
A wrongful death lawyer can help a family request and preserve this kind of evidence before it becomes unavailable.
