Nashville, TN (September 19, 2026) – Two people were injured after two vehicles collided on Ashland City Highway near Mile Marker 7 in Nashville on Saturday, September 19. The crash happened at about 12:19 p.m.
The Metro Nashville Police Department reported that two people were taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.
The crash shut down both sides of Ashland City Highway. The Tennessee Department of Transportation reported that all lanes reopened at about 4:15 p.m.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
We hope everyone injured in the crash makes a full recovery.
Fault after a car accident in Nashville is determined by looking at what each driver did and whether their conduct played a part in what happened. Insurance companies may review speed, following distance, lane changes, right-of-way, and other factors to decide who was at fault.
Because the order of the impacts can affect fault, evidence may help show how the crash unfolded. Photos of the vehicles and roadway, dash camera footage, nearby surveillance video, driver statements, and the police report may help establish what happened.
After fault is established, you may be able to seek compensation for your medical bills, lost income, pain and suffering, and the cost of repairing or replacing your vehicle.
If you share some responsibility for the crash, Tennessee’s modified comparative fault rule may affect your claim. Your compensation can be reduced by your percentage of fault, and you generally cannot recover damages if you are found 50% or more responsible.
Time can also affect your ability to bring a claim. Tennessee generally gives injured people one year from the crash date to file a personal injury lawsuit, although some circumstances may change the deadline.
As the claim moves forward, a car accident lawyer can review the evidence, insurance coverage, and questions about fault. An attorney can also communicate with insurers and challenge efforts to place an unfair share of the blame on you.
