Franklin, TN (September 17, 2026) – A pedestrian was injured in a crash involving a vehicle at Lewisburg Avenue and Adams Street in Franklin on Tuesday, September 15. The collision occurred shortly before 10 a.m.
Emergency units took the pedestrian to a hospital. The injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Investigators closed Lewisburg Avenue between Adams Street and South Margin Street. Drivers were directed to use other routes until the roadway reopened.
The Franklin Police Department is working to determine what led to the wreck.
We hope the injured pedestrian makes a full recovery.
Pedestrian accidents in Franklin commonly cause broken bones, head trauma, spinal injuries, internal bleeding, and damage to the knees, hips, or legs. Deep cuts, torn ligaments, and severe bruising may also occur.
As recovery continues, these injuries may make it harder to walk, work, drive, or care for family members. Some people may need physical therapy, mobility aids, help at home, or temporary changes to their work duties.
To document your losses, save photographs, medical records, pay statements, and the Franklin Police Department report. Video from nearby buildings or traffic cameras may also help show how the vehicle and pedestrian approached the crossing.
When responsibility is unclear, the crossing point, traffic signals, lighting, vehicle speed, and each person’s actions may all matter. Tennessee law requires drivers and pedestrians to follow traffic rules, but drivers must still use reasonable care to avoid a collision.
Depending on the harm caused, compensation may include hospital bills, future treatment, lost income, and pain and suffering. Lasting physical limitations or a reduced ability to live independently may also affect the value of a claim.
Under Tennessee law, most personal injury lawsuits must be filed within one year. Waiting too long can prevent you from taking the case to court, even if you otherwise have a valid claim.
If an insurer disputes the extent of your losses, a pedestrian accident lawyer can review your medical records, employment information, and other supporting documents. An attorney can also challenge an offer that does not reflect how the injuries have affected your life.
