Nashville, TN (September 27, 2026) – A 25-year-old motorcyclist died on Saturday evening, September 26, after a crash involving an SUV on Gallatin Pike in Nashville.

The motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Gallatin Pike when the driver of an SUV reportedly attempted to turn west onto Walton Lane. The motorcycle collided with the SUV during the turn, ejecting the rider from the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was taken by helicopter to Skyline Medical Center, where he later died.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision.

We extend our condolences to the motorcyclist's family and loved ones during this difficult time.

How Is Fault Determined After a Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Nashville, TN?

Fault after a fatal motorcycle crash may be reviewed by examining how each vehicle was being operated immediately before the collision. Driver actions, traffic signals, turning movements, vehicle positions, roadway conditions, and other available evidence may help establish how the crash occurred.

Investigators may examine whether the vehicles had the appropriate traffic signal, where each vehicle was positioned, and how much time and distance were available before the collision.

Physical evidence can also help reconstruct the crash. Photographs of the vehicles, roadway markings, debris, and damage may provide information about the direction of travel and point of collision. Repair records and other vehicle documentation can preserve additional details.

Witness accounts may provide information about what happened immediately before the vehicles collided. Available surveillance footage, traffic-camera recordings, or dashcam video may also help establish the sequence of events if such evidence exists.

Roadway and visibility conditions may be considered as well. Lighting, traffic signals, lane markings, signs, weather, and other conditions on the scene may provide additional context when the circumstances are reviewed.

Because the crash resulted in a death, medical and financial records may also become relevant to a potential wrongful death claim. Funeral expenses, medical costs incurred before the death, and other losses may need to be documented by eligible family members.

A wrongful death lawyer can review crash evidence, witness accounts, insurance information, and financial records to explain what legal options may be available to eligible family members.
