One Hurt in Crash on Clear Springs Rd in Knoxville, TN

October 19, 2026

Knoxville, TN (October 19, 2026) – One person was taken to a hospital after a wreck on Clear Springs Road on Monday, October 19.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office and emergency units were called to the scene to provide aid to those involved and manage the traffic in the area.

Authorities said the person hospitalized was taken to the hospital under a trauma alert, though they have not specified the full extent of their injuries.

The cause remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with everyone involved.

Does Tennessee Require Uninsured Motorist Coverage in Knoxville, TN?

Tennessee insurers must include uninsured motorist coverage in auto liability policies unless the policyholder rejects it in writing. The coverage may apply when the at-fault driver has no insurance, has too little, or cannot be identified. Knoxville drivers can check a policy's declarations page to see whether they kept it.

Many drivers do not remember signing a rejection form, and some are surprised to find a lower limit than they expected. Limits matter because medical bills, lost wages, and repairs can pass the state minimum of $25,000 per person quickly.

A claim under this coverage is made against the policyholder's own insurer, which can still raise questions about fault, treatment, and costs. Prompt notice, medical records, photos, and any police report help support it.

Policy language, notice requirements, and the one-year limit that generally applies to Tennessee injury lawsuits can all affect when and how a claim moves forward, which is why a car accident lawyer in Knoxville is usually asked to review them before a claim is submitted.

At Fox & Farmer, we can explain how Tennessee's uninsured and underinsured motorist rules work and how they may apply to your case.
