A fatal motor vehicle collision in Nashville, depending on the circumstances, eligible family members or representatives of the deceased person’s estate may be able to pursue a wrongful death claim. This may involve reviewing evidence, determining whether negligence contributed to the collision, and identifying losses recognized under Tennessee law.
A wrongful death claim may seek compensation for funeral and burial expenses, medical costs related to the final injury, lost income, and the value of the deceased person’s services or companionship. The damages available depend on the circumstances and applicable state law.
If another driver survives with serious injuries, their potential claim is evaluated separately based on liability, insurance coverage, and available evidence. Police findings, witness accounts, and vehicle damage may help establish how the collision occurred. A wrongful death lawyer can review these details, explain potential claims, and identify relevant deadlines.
